Serving Christ & Sharing Hope

Outreach Ministry

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

At Bear Creek Church, we don’t view Matthew 28:19-20 as merely a suggestion or instructions meant only for the original disciples. We recognize it as a sacred command—The Great Commission—that Jesus entrusted to every believer. It is a call to action, reminding us that sharing the Gospel and making disciples is not optional, but essential to living out our faith.

We understand that while not everyone is called to go everywhere, everyone is called to do something. Some are called to go, some are called to send, some are called to serve locally, and others are called to support through prayer and resources. Every act of obedience, no matter how small, plays a vital role in fulfilling the mission Christ left for His Church.

At Bear Creek, we are intentional about equipping, teaching, and encouraging our members to actively participate in the work of making disciples—both within our community and beyond. Whether through missions, outreach, serving, giving, or simply living as an example of Christ’s love, we believe every believer has a part to play.

We remain confident in the promise Jesus gave: “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” With His presence and power, we strive to make a real impact for the Kingdom of God—one soul, one act of love, one step of faith at a time.

Haiti Mission Trip 2018

The mission of the Bear Creek Community Church was to continue what the Lord started 6 years ago. Through the mission ministry of Ron and Star Nelson we were introduced to the Hosean International Ministries in Pignon Haiti. This relation evolved into a cooperative mission effort by the Bear Creek Church to support the people on the ground doing Kingdom work and to share the love of Jesus Christ with the people of Haiti.

Heart for Haiti

Mission Theme | Serve with a heart like Jesus

Mission Scripture

Joshua 22:5 – “Only carefully obey the command and instruction that Moses the Lords servant gave you. To love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, keep his commands, be loyal to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.”

With hearts postured in humility and hands ready to serve, we embark on this sacred journey—”Heart for Haiti”—not as tourists, but as servants following the footsteps of our Savior. Rooted in our mission theme, “Serve with a heart like Jesus,” we respond to the call in Joshua 22:5 to love the Lord, walk in His ways, and serve Him with all our heart and soul. Under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Dennis Webb and First Lady Lydia Webb, Bear Creek Community Church continues to carry the mantle passed down through faithful servants like Ron and Star Nelson. This mission is more than a trip—it is a divine assignment to partner with Hosean International Ministries and be a tangible expression of God’s love to the people of Pignon, Haiti.

Missionary Flights International

Departure Date: July 24, 2018 from Missionary Flight International Airport Fort Pierce Florida. A four hour trip with a stop in Exuma in the Bahamas to refuel and a stop in Caphatian for customs and immigration into the country then a final 12 minute flight to Pignon.

As we reflect on the journey, from the takeoff at Missionary Flights International in Fort Pierce, Florida, to the touching moments in Pignon, we are reminded that missions don’t end when we return—they live on in the hearts we’ve touched and the lives that have touched us. Through each prayer, each act of service, and each shared testimony, the heartbeat of Jesus was made known. We give God glory for Pastor Dennis and Lydia Webb’s unwavering support, for the legacy of Ron and Star Nelson, and for the opportunity to sow into Kingdom work in Haiti. May the seeds planted continue to grow, and may we, as a church, remain committed to serving with compassion, humility, and a heart like Jesus, wherever He leads.

Mission Scripture

Joshua 22:5 – “Only carefully obey the command and instruction that Moses the Lords servant gave you. To love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, keep his commands, be loyal to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.”

When Jesus walked the earth, He made a difference not by crowds alone, but one soul at a time, healing, teaching, and serving with compassion. With this same heart, we step into the mission called “Making a Difference: One Church, One Person…at a Time.” Guided by the divine charge in Joshua 22:5, we go forth with a loyal heart and soul, walking in His ways and serving with intentional love. Under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Dennis and First Lady Lydia Webb, Bear Creek Community Church remains steadfast in our partnership with St. Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shalle, Haiti and Hosean International Ministries in Pignon. Each effort, whether it’s a ceiling installed, a meal distributed, or a child educated, is a living testimony of what happens when we choose to serve with the heart of Jesus.

Haiti Trip Mission 2020 - 2021

We regret to announce that our scheduled mission trips to Haiti for the years 2020 and 2021 were officially canceled due to the global impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Haiti 2020 & 2021

Bear Creek Community Church: Haiti Mission Interrupted, But Not Defeated

Reflecting on the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Our Global Mission Efforts

In 2020, Bear Creek Community Church was preparing for one of its most anticipated outreach efforts, our annual mission trip to Haiti. For years, this mission had become a cornerstone of our ministry, bringing hands-on aid, educational support, and the love of Christ to families in desperate need. Plans were in motion, passports were ready, supplies were gathered, and hearts were stirred with anticipation. But then, the world changed.

When the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the globe, it didn’t just disrupt lives locally—it sent shock-waves into every corner of our mission field. Haiti, already burdened by political instability and poverty, was hit particularly hard. Strict travel restrictions, health concerns, and the global suspension of international volunteer programs forced us to make the painful decision to postpone our 2020 mission.

As 2021 began, we remained hopeful. Yet, new variants, vaccine delays, and worsening conditions on the ground made it clear that a return would not be safe or feasible. Two years in a row, we were unable to touch Haitian soil, hug familiar faces, or share the gospel in person. But the mission didn’t stop, it simply shifted.

Spiritual Growth Through the Setback

The delay taught us that mission work is not confined to travel dates or stamped passports. It’s about consistent compassion, faith in action, and trusting God’s timing. We learned to appreciate the resilience of the Haitian people even more, and we were reminded that God’s work never stops, even in the face of global uncertainty.

Bear Creek Community Church is prayerfully planning our return to Haiti. We are committed not only to rebuilding what was paused but to reigniting the passion and purpose behind our mission work with even greater urgency.

What the enemy meant for disruption, God is using for preparation. We believe that the seeds sown in 2020 and 2021, through prayer, provision, and partnership, will produce an even greater harvest in the years to come.

To God be the glory, in every season.

Haiti's Missions Temporarily Paused

All Missions to Haiti Temporarily Paused Due to Regional Violence

Click the link below:

At Bear Creek Community Church, the safety and well-being of our mission teams and the communities we serve remain a top priority. Due to the recent and ongoing rise in violence and instability in the region, all missions to Haiti have been temporarily paused until further notice.

This decision was made prayerfully and in consultation with our mission partners on the ground. We continue to stand in support of the people of Haiti and remain committed to serving them in the future when conditions allow for safe travel and ministry.

We ask our church family and supporters to please keep Haiti in your prayers for peace, protection, and provision. We will provide updates as the situation develops and as we explore safe avenues to resume our outreach efforts.

For questions or additional information, please contact our Missions Team.

Only carefully obey the command and instruction that Moses the Lords servant gave you. To love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, keep his commands, be loyal to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.
